CMHR launches new
fundraising campaign highlighting education
Friends of the Canadian Human Rights Museum announced the
launch of new fundraising campaign Wednesday morning aimed at promoting
the museum as hub for human rights education.
The "Help Me Build It" campaign will market the museum as an
educational tool by promoting its value as a centre for discussion of
human rights issues.
"In addition to bolstering fundraising, the campaign is
designed to raise awareness among Canadians that their newest national
treasure will be an international centre of learning where people can
engage in discussion, and commit to taking action against hate and
oppression," Friends said in statement.
The fundraing arm of the CMHR also announced it has raised
close to $8 million in private-sector donations this year, with $2
million being raised in the past two months alone.
To date, Friends of the Canadian Human Rights Museum has
raised close to $138 million in pledges for the completion of museum.

So people can come there and discuss and learn why the "war on terror"
is really about profiting the military industrial complex,
oil/pipelines, occupation and opium.
So people can learn and
discuss why over a million people have been killed in Iraq and
Afghanistan including thousands of soldiers. Why thousands were killed
in Libya by NATO bombing raids. Why countless people have been
slaughtered in Africa for their natural resources to profit mega
corporations. Why the West financially backs and arms third world
Is this what this place is really all about? If so, count me in!
