Rebekah of Green Gables

Re: "Fiery media chief goes down," July 16, 2011.

Rebekah Brooks is a fascinating study.

In some photographs, Brooks comes across as a Druidic priestess, officiating at Stonehenge; in others, like an adult version of Anne of Green Gables or a female complement to the folksinger Arlo Guthrie, a social activist nun or a latterday Lady Macbeth; and on and on. She's like a Rorschach ink blot, into which one may read all manner of things -- perfect, in short, as tabloid fodder.

Now, wouldn't that be a karmic twist of fate were her own dirty linen to be so luridly exposed?
