With Trudeaupian irreverence -- remember how in May 1977 our prime minister executed a pirouette behind the majestic back of Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace?

Senate page Brigette DePape staged a stunt in an equally august setting apparently intended to spur dissent against the new Harper government. It was delightfully ironic afterwards to learn Liberal MP Justin Trudeau deplored what DePape had done in stepping on the abiding “sense of respect and decorum” that goes with a throne speech.
