Silver lining

The dystopia that is North Korea has long been ruled by the Kim dynasty as a private fiefdom.

Word is, the present ruler of the Hermit Kingdom, Kim Jong-il, now regards his younger son, Kim Jong-un, as his heir apparent. The bad news is that democracy in any form appears not to be on the agenda there for the foreseeable future.

The good news is the “Dear Leader” is, in fact, looking ahead to a peaceful succession, not contemplating some nightmarish nuclear showdown before he leaves the scene feet first.
