Re: MP apologizes for Nazi reference, National Post, May 10, 2001

Your article states that Mr. Oberlander "was found by a federal court of having lied about his membership in a Nazi murder unit that executed 90,000 Jews."

Your article neglects to state that Mr. Oberlander has not been given a criminal trial, where one is innocent until proven guilty.

Your article also neglects to state that Mr. Oberlander was not a Nazi and there is not a shred of evidence that he was involved in any killings.

Your article also neglects to state that Mr. Oberlander's "membership" consisted of being a 17 year old boy who was forced to translate for a killing unit.

If our government were sincere about finding Nazi war criminals, they would look for the Nazis who pointed a gun at Mr. Oberlander's head.

Kudos to Mr. Telegdi: I admire his integrity.
