Supporting your stance on right of appeal

Thank you very much for taking such a courageous stand in the cause of justice for all Canadians.

I am appalled at our skewed legal/political system that allows the right of appeal to the likes of Paul Bernardo and Clifford Olson (criminals convicted on the basis of solid evidence) but not Helmut Oberlander and Wasyl Odynsky (law-abiding, exemplary citizens against whom there is no evidence whatsoever).

What kind of a country do we live in? Canada is being run like a banana republic and I am beginning to live in fear that even as a third-generation Canadian I am not safe from the chicanery of capricous opportunists in Ottawa. I can only imagine the disgust you must endure on a daily basis, being so close to the issue and actually having to work with these people.

You have my sympathy, gratitude, and moral support in your uphill struggle to simply stand up for what is right.

Sincerely,
Paulette MacQuarrie
